Lyme Disease: Three Ways Homeopathy Can Help

As you read in my previous post, Homeopathy is a shining star when it comes to helping individuals afflicted with Lyme Disease.  On going prescriptions of antibiotics do help some people manage their disease, but that approach wreaks havoc on your digestive system.

Homeopathy can help with prevention, overcoming the dis-ease, and prevention again at the end.

Preventing with Homeopathy

Ledum Palustre

Ledum Palustre

If you know you got a tick bite, or if you see the tell-tale bull’s eye rash, immediately take high potency doses of Homeopathic Ledum:  1M 3x per day for 3 – 6 days.  If you take it as soon as you know you were bitten, even before the rash, it does a good job of nipping it before it can develop.  Bring it with you in your back pack if you are hiking or fishing.  If you get the rash or start to get symptom of Lyme, you should go to your doctor and also take the antibiotics.  There are also other remedies that can be taken at this time, but the remedies must be chosen by a homeopath.

Over-coming the Dis-ease with Homeopathy

Many people with Lyme do not get a bull’s eye rash.  It is common to just start to develop symptoms, which may seem like influenza.  Many influenza remedies, if taken early on, can stop Lyme in its tracks.

The constitution of the person who has contracted Lyme will determine where the symptoms settle.  For example, headaches, joint pain, heart symptoms, etc., all reflect different constitutional remedies in homeopathy.  If the symptoms are addressed quickly and aggressively, that may be all it takes.

But Lyme which has continued on and on and is in a chronic state requires much more aggressive therapy.  In my clinic, we start with detoxification with homeopathic remedies, supported by supplements, minerals, and herbs to manage the detoxification reactions.  This detoxification should help you feel better within a couple of weeks, as the liver, kidneys, matrix, etc begins to clear out.

If you have multiple tic borne infections, they can all be removed with isotherapy; that is, homeopathic remedies made from all the infectious critters.  If you have been diagnosed with Lyme, you may also have the co-infections.  The standard tests from the Doctor’s office are the ELISA and Western Blot.  They are frequently inaccurate.  If you have these tests done and they come back negative AND you still feel awful, ask the doctor to order an Initial Lyme Panel from Igenex or Clongen.  They are 98% accurate.

Prevention. Again.

Once you are feeling better from the homeopathic treatment, you most definitely do not want to get Lyme again.  In homeopathy, we recognize that there are certain constitutions that are more likely to get Lyme disease.  The final step in helping the dis-ease that is Lyme is a constitutional remedy. There are many possible remedies, to help deal with the grief, the loss, and the changes that come with Lyme and the changes you experience with overcoming it.

Homeopathy is the shining star for Lyme.  Let homeopathy shine down on you!

Lyme Disease: A 21st Century Disease

“In the fullness of time, the mainstream handling of chronic Lyme will be viewed as one of the most shameful episodes in the history of medicine because elements of academic medicine, elements of the government and virtually the entire insurance industry have colluded to deny a disease.

This has resulted in needless suffering of many individuals who deteriorate and sometimes die for lack of timely application of treatments or denial of treatment beyond some arbitrary duration.”

Kenneth Liegner, MD
Address on Lyme disease at the International Organization of Medicine conference, 2011

Lyme Disease is the diagnosis of the 21st Century.  Or perhaps I should say, Lyme Disease is the Missed Diagnosis of the 21st Century.

Deer Tic

Deer Tic

Hardly a week goes by where I don’t hear of a person who was recently diagnosed with chronic Lyme’s Disease, either in my practice or in a social setting.  This isn’t too big a surprise.  According to the Centers for Disease Control, there are 14 states in which 95% of the Lyme Disease cases are diagnosed.  Minnesota is one of those states.

As you can see from the above quote, Western Medicine has little to offer for Lyme disease.  In fact, they tend to deny that it exists.  There is one tool in the toolkit for Western Medicine, and it is Antibiotics.

What are the symptoms that indicate you may have an undiagnosed case of Lyme disease? The CDC acknowledges about 30,000 cases per year.  This is up from 20,000 in 2004.  In reality there are probably 1,000,000 per year.  Why the discrepancy?

There are many things that have been found to be Lyme that have been misdiagnosed as something else.  They include:

Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Epstein Barr Virus, MS, RA, ALS, IBS, Crohn’s Disease, migraines, neuralgias, neuropathy, Tourettes syndrome, Meniere’s disease, vertigo, Parkinsons, dementia, early onset Alzheimers, arrhythmia, anxiety, depression, bi-polar, OCD, restless leg syndrome, stillbirth, autism, vague symptoms coupled with ‘wandering’ joint pains.

For example, Dr. Alan MacDonald, a Lyme disease researcher at South Hampton Hospital, found that 70% of Alzheimer’s patients has Lyme spirochetes in their brains!  He also found some babies that died of SIDS also had spirochetes in their brains.

Dr. Sam Schorr, a Chronic Fatigue Syndrome specialist, tested 250 cases of CFS for Borrellia, the microbe responsible for Lyme disease, and all 250 cases tested positive.

Here are some symptoms generally agreed upon by natural health practitioners of things to watch for that may indicate Lyme disease:

A 21st Century disease needs 21st Century protocols to help those who suffer.  Homeopathy is a shining star when it comes to helping people with Lyme disease.  I recently took classes to learn how to get to the bottom of Lyme disease.  Watch my next blog post for more information.

Lyme’s Disease and Homeopathy

Recently I posted about how homeopathy can help someone recover from Autism by using the CEASE Therapy protocol.  Much other dis-ease can also be helped with the Isotherapy component of CEASE.  (CEASE stands for Complete Elimination of Autism Spectrum Expression.)

While homeopathy means “similar suffering”, Isotherapy works by using the SAME causative agent, not a similar one.  The first time I remember hearing about this method of using homeopathic remedies, I was still in homeopathy school.  One of my teachers told us about having Crystal Light potentized (that is, turned into a homeopathic remedy) to help a little girl who had never been well since drinking that particular flavor of Crystal Light.  It helped the girl immensely.  (I try not to think of all the chemicals in that cocktail of aspartame sweetness.)

It is helpful if you know the causative agent, but often we don’t, or there isn’t one.  Lyme’s Disease, however, is one form of dis-ease where we are really clear what the causative agent is.

So if you were bit by a deer tick, potentized deer tick, Ixodes scapularis, is the isotherapy for Lyme’s Disease.  The pharmacy from which I secure my CEASE remedies has potentized ticks which carry all four bacteria that are commonly transmitted by the deer tick.  Using progressively stronger doses of Ixodes scapularis will help a person recover from Lyme’s Disease.  There are other remedies and a supplement or two that can work side by side with the isotherapy to help remove the energetic imprint of the deer tick.  Once the Isotherapy is completed, the protocol ends with a Classical Homeopathy remedy.

Just a side note, it may seem like mid summer is an odd time to be writing about tick bites when spring tends to be tick season.   But that is only true with woodticks.  Deer ticks are active for over half the year.

I recall that in 2010, the Minnesota Legislature tackled a tough problem.  Many physicians were being investigated by the medical board for using ongoing, low dose antibiotics to deal with chronic Lyme’s disease.  This protocol is not part of the Standard of Care (which, BTW, is not written down, but like pornography, you know it when you see it), and doctors who thought it worked were not supposed to be doing that, regardless of the results.  The Legislature, not wanting to tell doctors how to do their jobs, finally got the Board of Medical Practices to agree to a 5 year moratorium on investigations of physicians using long term antibiotic therapy for chronic Lyme’s disease.

Now that the CEASE therapy is being made more well known, perhaps some of those suffering this horrible, debilitating dis-ease can get relief OFF the antibiotics.  It would be nice if the MD’s could actually refer their patients to a homeopath, but they cannot.  That is a subject for another post.

The Isotherapy is not the first plan of action for Lyme’s disease.  If you get bitten by a deer tick and see the characteristic Bull’s Eye, the remedy of choice to start with is Ledum 10M, unless other symptoms seem more prominent. You should do this if you know you were bit by a deer tick but don’t get the bulls eye.  Ledum is for puncture wounds, and an insect bite is a puncture wound.  Remedies in that high a potency are only available through a homeopath.  Besides, this is not a disease you want to mess around with treating yourself.

Let me know if I can help.
